What the conversion layer does
- Reads the x402 seller's required network, asset, amount, and destination.
- Quotes supported crypto routes toward that requirement.
- Shows the all-in cost before payment.
- Records the route, assumptions, idempotency key, and receipt fields.
- Refuses unsupported or unsafe routes instead of pretending everything is universal.
Important boundary
This is a conversion handoff and payment routing layer. It does not collect seed phrases or private keys. Wallet signing remains with the caller's approved wallet flow or a developer-credit path that the caller has already authorized.
Prompt for your agent
Use Wisely to quote the x402 seller. If the seller needs Base USDC, check whether my approved crypto can be converted toward that settlement asset. Show the route, total cost, network assumptions, and receipt plan before invoking.
